Derby Lights Up Purple for DLD
On Friday 16 October 2026, Sunshine Support is hosting Derby Lights Up Purple for DLD at our hub on the Derby Conference Centre estate.
Everyone is invited to arrive from 6pm for hot chocolate, hot drinks, snacks and an informal opportunity to chat, meet other families and find out more about DLD. Everything is completely free of charge.
We have three wonderful guest speakers:
Libby Hill, Consultant Speech and Language Therapist, Managing Director of Small Talk Speech and Language Therapy and a passionate DLD ambassador
Ridley Wadlow, a 12-year-old DLD ambassador who will be sharing her lived experience
Chrissa Wadlow, Founder of Sunshine Support and Ridley’s mum, who will speak from both a parenting and SEND-support perspective
At approximately 6.30pm, we will walk around to the front of the Derby Conference Centre to watch the building being lit up purple for DLD Awareness Day. 💜
